About Us

I’ve always loved eating dark chocolate, and I love to discover new chocolate bars. However, in the abundance of chocolate options, I never know which one to try and which one suits my taste. And, many times in the past, I’ve loved unique chocolates from boutique or artisanal stores, but never remember the name or profile of the chocolate I tried.

I decided to create Noir for the purpose of creating a community of chocolate lovers where people can share ratings and reviews of chocolates they’ve tried, and find new chocolates that may suit their desires.

How chocolates on Noir are rated

There are many attributes that chocolate bars can be rated on. The four main attributes are cocoa percentage, flavor, texture, aroma, and appearance.

• Flavor: Bitter, Sweet, Fruity, Nutty
• Texture: Smooth, Grainy, Crunchy, Creamy, Soft, Hard
• Aroma: Mild, Medium, Intense, Complex, One-note
• Appearance: Patterns, Shiny, Attractive Packaging, Classic Chocolate Blocks
